Swip away the clutter

PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: 2026-08-18 (rev. 1)

This policy explains what Swipix (“the App”) does and does not do with your data. The short version: everything happens on your device, and nothing is collected, transmitted, or stored anywhere else.

1. No Data Collection

Swipix does not have a backend, does not require an account, and does not use analytics or activity tracking. There are two exceptions: Google AdMob, used to show a single, non-personalized ad when you choose to permanently empty your trash, and Sentry, used only to report app crashes and errors so they can be diagnosed and fixed — see Section 6 for what each involves. Outside of those two cases, nothing you do in the App — which photos you view, keep, delete, or restore — is sent anywhere.

2. Photo Library Access

The App requests access to your device’s photo library solely to let you view, organize, and delete photos and videos you choose. This access is used only on your device, in the moment you’re using the App. Photos are never uploaded, copied off-device, or shared with the developer or any third party.

3. What’s Stored, and Where

Some small preferences are stored locally on your device, using standard on-device storage — never transmitted anywhere:

  • Your selected language
  • Filter settings for categories (e.g. brightness range, file size range, the month/year you last selected)
  • Which photos are currently in the App’s trash, awaiting your decision to permanently delete them (nothing is ever deleted automatically)
  • Whether you’ve completed the onboarding flow
  • A small technical cache of values derived from your photos (such as brightness and blur measurements) used to power categories like Blurred Photos and Duplicates, so the App doesn’t have to re-analyze the same photo every time

Uninstalling the App removes all of this.

4. Permanent Deletion

When you choose to permanently delete a photo, the App uses your device’s own photo library APIs to do so. The developer has no separate copy and cannot recover it once deleted.

5. Children’s Privacy

The App is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect any data from anyone, regardless of age — consistent with Section 1, there is nothing to collect in the first place.

6. Advertising, Crash Reporting, and Future Changes

Swipix shows one ad, served by Google AdMob, when you choose to permanently empty your trash. Ads are requested as non-personalized: AdMob does not use your activity in the App, or an advertising identifier, to build a profile or target ads to you. Showing an ad still requires sending Google some standard technical data (such as your IP address and general device information) needed to serve and measure it — the same baseline data any ad SDK requires. Emptying your trash never depends on an ad actually loading; if none is available, deletion proceeds regardless.

If the App crashes or encounters an unexpected error, technical details are automatically sent to Sentry, a crash-reporting service, so the problem can be diagnosed and fixed. This includes your device model, OS version, App version, and the specific code path that failed — never your photos, or which photos you’ve viewed, kept, or deleted. This only happens at the moment of a crash or error, not continuously, and is processed in Sentry’s EU data region.

Swipix has no payments currently. If that changes — for example, by introducing subscriptions or one-time purchases — this policy will be updated to describe what’s involved, and the App will ask for any consent required at that time.

7. Changes to This Policy

This policy may be updated at any time, including to reflect new features described in Section 6. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision — continued use of the App after a change is published constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

8. Governing Law

This policy is governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from this policy or your use of the App is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rome, Italy, except where applicable law (such as mandatory data-protection rules in your country of residence, including GDPR rights enforceable before your own local supervisory authority) requires otherwise.

TERMS OF USE

Last updated: 2026-08-18 (rev. 1)

By using Swipix (“the App”), you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the App.

1. What the App Does

Swipix helps you review photos on your device and move photos you choose to a trash within the App. Nothing is ever deleted automatically or in the background — photos stay in that trash until you explicitly choose to permanently delete them from your device’s photo library.

2. Your Responsibility

You are solely responsible for the decisions you make while using the App, including which photos you choose to delete. The App never deletes anything automatically — photos you swipe away are held in a review screen until you explicitly confirm permanent deletion — but you are responsible for reviewing your selections and maintaining your own backups of anything important before using the App’s deletion features. Deletion of photos from your device’s photo library, once confirmed, cannot be undone by the App.

3. No Warranty

The App is provided “AS IS” and “AS AVAILABLE,” without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. This includes the accuracy of any automatic photo categorization, analysis, or grouping the App performs (e.g. flagging photos as blurry, similar, large, or from a given date range) — these are heuristics, not guarantees, and you are responsible for reviewing what the App selects before deleting it. We do not warrant that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs.

4. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the developer of Swipix shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages — including but not limited to loss of photos, data, or other content, or losses arising from mistaken deletions, misclassifications, or other errors — arising from or related to your use of, or inability to use, the App, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

5. Changes to These Terms

These terms may be updated at any time and for any reason, including to reflect new features, pricing, or legal requirements, with or without prior notice. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision — continued use of the App after a change is published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms, so check back occasionally to stay informed.

6. Changes to the App and Future Features

Swipix may add, change, or discontinue features at any time. This currently includes a single advertisement, served by Google AdMob, shown when you choose to permanently empty your trash — emptying your trash never depends on that ad loading — and automatic crash and error reporting via Sentry, so problems can be diagnosed and fixed (see the Privacy Policy for what this involves). Swipix may also introduce further monetization, such as subscriptions or one-time purchases, in the future. Where a new feature would require additional permissions or collect additional data, we will seek your consent for that specific feature at the time it’s introduced, consistent with our approach to privacy.

7. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Italy, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the App is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Rome, Italy, except where applicable law (such as mandatory consumer-protection rules in your country of residence) requires otherwise.
